Nothing, Something, Everything, 2024.
This work includes three oil paintings and an immersive spiral installation titled Pathways. Together, they explore states of presence, absence, and becoming—drawing the viewer into a sensory and emotional dialogue with the unseen.
The work embodies Eizenberg’s belief that art is alive, unfolding through the relationships and experiences it evokes.
Rooted in personal narrative and informed by Jewish mysticism and contemporary theory, the practice becomes a site where the visible and invisible meet, inviting reflection, curiosity, and connection.
Nothing
Nothing is a vibrant, expressive painting that explores the interconnected nature of nothingness, something, and everything.
The title reflects the idea that nothingness is not an absence but a space of infinite potential, closely tied to being and existence. Using an impressionist technique, the work features dynamic, layered brushstrokes that create a sense of movement and depth.
These visible marks evoke the concept of vitalist projections, capturing the traces of energy and presence left behind by the artist’s hand. Nothing invites viewers to reflect on the presence within absence and the possibilities inherent in the undefined.
Oil on canvas, 101 x 117cm.
Something
Something is a circular, spiral composition that draws viewers into its portal-like design, evoking the sense of being pulled into the unknown.
Positioned between Nothing and Everything, this work represents the transitional space—the emergence of form from formlessness, the moment potential begins to actualise. The spiral structure reflects growth and movement, inviting contemplation from absence to presence.
This work connects to the mystical concepts of Ayin (nothingness) and Yesh (being) from Kabbalah, exploring how something emerges from infinite potential. It also aligns with Merleau-Ponty’s idea of the “chiasm,” where the boundaries between the visible and invisible blur create an immersive discovery experience.
Oil on canvas, 55.8 x 55.7cm.
Everything
Using impressionist techniques, Everything presents an abstract landscape divided into two sections, reflecting themes of connection and spirituality.
Rooted in Talmudic and Kabbalistic thought, the painting explores the concept of the additional soul received on Shabbat—an elevation that deepens joy, rest, and spiritual awareness.
The upper section symbolises two Shabbat souls shared in a sacred moment, while the single circle below represents physical souls connecting. This duality gestures toward the mystical belief that the spiritual and physical realms mirror each other—a concept echoed in the phrase, “as above, so below.”
The work invites viewers to consider the interplay between the tangible and the transcendent.
Oil on canvas 91 x 182 cm.
Pathways
Pathways is an immersive installation designed to be physically explored and walked through. Created from painted CDs and vinyl records, it forms a spiral that invites viewers to engage with the work visually and physically.
The spiral structure symbolises growth, transformation, and the perennial nature of creation, echoing the themes of Nothing, Something, and Everything.
Walking through Pathways reflects the idea that art is alive, evolving through the relationships and experiences it creates with its audience. Rooted in the Kabbalistic understanding of creation, the work explores how creation transforms nothingness into something tangible, offering an experience of discovery and connection.
Pathways encapsulates the journey of creation, bridging the space between potential and realisation.
Oil on CDS and Records.
